Itugma

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the game, the flags, and the brain-friendly design behind Itugma™.

What is Itugma™?

Itugma™ is a polished concentration memory game where you match pairs of country flags, U.S. state flags, pride flags, and faith symbols. It has 46 levels and 285 unique designs, and is built for clarity, calm, and cognitive support.

How do you play a memory matching game?

You tap a tile to flip it over, then tap a second tile to try to find its match. If the two tiles match, they stay face up. If they don't, both flip back. Clear all pairs to complete the level.

Is Itugma™ free to play?

Yes. Itugma™ is free to play in your browser. No download, no signup, no ads in your way.

Does Itugma™ work on mobile?

Yes. Itugma™ is mobile-first and works on iPhone, iPad, and Android phones and tablets, as well as on desktop. Large tap targets and a calm layout make it easy to play one-handed.

How many levels are in Itugma™?

There are 46 levels with 285 unique flag and symbol designs. Each new level adds tiles, reshuffles the board, and gently increases the challenge.

What categories of flags are in the game?

Country flags, U.S. state flags, pride flags, faith flags, faith symbols, and bonus branches. Each category has its own border color so you can read the board at a glance.

What flag is this? How do I identify a flag I don't recognize?

Itugma™ labels every tile with the flag or symbol name on its face-up side, so playing the game is also a quick way to learn flags by sight. Start with Level 1 to see the most common flags first.

What are flags with crosses?

A cross is one of the most common symbols on national and regional flags. Nordic flags (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland) all use an off-center Nordic cross. The flag of England is the red cross of St. George on white. Switzerland uses a white cross on red. Itugma™ includes many of these so you can learn them by matching pairs.

What are the Nordic flags?

The five Nordic flags are Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. They all share the off-center Nordic cross pattern but use different color combinations. The Faroe Islands, Åland, and Greenland use variants of the same design.

What religious flags and symbols are included?

Itugma™ includes widely recognized faith flags (such as the Christian Flag, Buddhist Flag, and Vatican City Flag) and faith symbols (such as the cross, Star of David, crescent, dharma wheel, om, and khanda). Tiles are color-coded so categories are easy to tell apart.

Are memory games good for the brain?

Yes. Concentration-style matching games exercise short-term memory, attention, and visual recognition. Itugma™ was designed by a stroke survivor, so the pacing, contrast, and layout are tuned to support cognitive recovery and reduce overwhelm.

Who made Itugma™?

Itugma™ was created by Valerie Asher under Valerie Asher LLC, as part of the StrokeBrain™ ecosystem — human-centered tools built from lived experience with stroke recovery.

Is Itugma™ accessible?

Accessibility is a core requirement, not an afterthought. Itugma™ uses high contrast, large tap targets, clear labels, predictable workflows, and a calm visual rhythm to support players with cognitive fatigue, brain fog, low vision, or reduced dexterity.

Can I play with friends?

A two-player versus mode is part of the roadmap. For now, Itugma™ is single-player — perfect for a daily memory routine or a calm break.
